QUOTES: Abuse of Caste by dominant Castes and ignorance of majority

Prof Inukonda Thirumali   " The nationalists thought India would become a nation undermining the caste distinctions. Political parties, particularly the Left, thought the distinctions would vanish with class struggles. Revanth Reddy is holding the post of PCC president repeatedly using castes as abuses indicating how still caste is part of our politics and culture." Prof. Murali Manohar  "We BCs neither understand the political language of dominant caste leaders nor can use caste/ community as an instrument to come together and challenge their monopoly. The nationalist politics produced religion-based casteist ideologies only to divide the people and rule, but we hardly realize that our strength lies in our numbers and we can win only when we are united."

India: Past decade, wealth from crony-capitalist sectors has risen from 5% to nearly 8% of its gdp

"India’s leader, Narendra Modi, has favourites among the country’s corporate captains. Over the past decade, wealth from crony-capitalist sectors has risen from 5% to nearly 8% of its gdp. Gautam Adani, the owner of the conglomerate of the same name, was briefly the world’s third-richest person in September. But in January his company was accused of fraud and stockmarket manipulation by Hindenburg Research, an American short-seller. It denies all accusations. His wealth has fallen from $90bn to $47bn." "Rent-seeking is common in sectors close to the state, including banking, construction, property and natural resources. It can sometimes be possible for rent-seekers to inflate their earnings by gaining favourable access to land, licences and resources. They may form cartels to limit competition or lobby the government for cosy regulations. They may bend rules, but do not typically break them." https://www.economist.com/international/2023/05/02/the-2023-cr...

People’s Manifesto for Samajika Telangana – 2023

Inukonda Thirumali                       Preface We, the people of Telangana - peasants, tenants, laborers, students, unemployed youth, employees, women and industrial workers; and our unorganized friends like watchmen, drivers, rag-pickers, street-dwellers, daily laborers, masons, painters, and venders,  - hereby declare what sort of Telangana is needed for our well-being. We came to know that our constitution makers outlined what is the “Justice”, Nyayamu, to us. The constitution has recognized us as a special category of people who needed special attention under articles 340 (BCs), 341(SCs), 342 STs), and 38 (the people who need justice), 39 (the citizen – men and women) 41 (unemployed, the old and sick), 43 (workers - agricultural, industrial and others), 45 (children) and 46 (“Weaker sections of people” and SCs, STs). Articles under the Directive Principles directed the elected Governments to providing free education,...

How to make People’s Telangana Possible?

How to make People’s Telangana Possible? Inukonda Thirumali  In the context of Karnataka election results the political calculations have begun. It is more so in neighboring Telangana. The inferences are the BRS or the Congress who are the winners in Telangana. But we, the people of Telangana - peasants, tenants, laborers, students, unemployed youth, employees, women and industrial workers - the participants in the movement are a matter today. There are our brethren the unorganized friends like watchmen, drivers, rag-pickers, street-dwellers, daily laborers, masons, painters, and venders whose aspirations are not yet met. We have been voting sincerely expecting samajika Telangana but the ruling party did not make such program as part of their governing agenda.  But the leaders we have elected became very rich possessing modern bunglows, huge lands and roaming in Innova cars. We don’t know why they move with police escorts and gun-men at the cost of the government as if ...
