Blue India Party Condemns Caste-Based Discrimination and Retaliatory Transfer of Dalit Assistant Manager in Kerala

The Blue India Party strongly condemns the outrageous incident of caste-based discrimination faced by a Dalit assistant manager at the Ernakulam branch of the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) in Kerala. This disgraceful episode, followed by the punitive transfer of the victim to Gujarat, lays bare the deep-rooted casteism that continues to afflict Indian workplaces and the abject failure of institutions to safeguard the rights of marginalized communities.

The assistant manager, a committed professional with over 11 years of service, was subjected to demeaning treatment by his upper-caste senior officer, Assistant General Manager Kashmeer Singh. He was forced to undertake menial tasks—fetching tea, watering office plants, and running personal errands such as purchasing ayurvedic medicines for the senior officer’s daughter and activating a bank account for his wife. These duties, unrelated to his managerial role, were imposed on him while peons and temporary staff available for such tasks were conspicuously ignored.

When the assistant manager protested this humiliation, he was met with a shocking casteist remark from Chief Regional Manager Nitesh Kumar Sinha, who reportedly said, “People of your caste are not suited for bank jobs, but for the kind of chores that Kashmeer Singh assigns to you.” This vile statement reflects an entrenched prejudice that denies Dalit individuals their dignity and professional worth. Instead of addressing his legitimate complaint, the bank retaliated by transferring him to Ahmedabad, Gujarat—a clear attempt to silence and punish him for speaking out.
The Blue India Party views this incident as a stark illustration of the systemic caste discrimination that persists in India, even within public sector institutions meant to embody equality and justice. The transfer, rather than accountability for the perpetrators, sends a dangerous signal to Dalit employees: that challenging caste-based oppression will result in further victimization.

We demand the following immediate actions:

1. Revoke the Transfer: The retaliatory transfer of the assistant manager to Gujarat must be canceled, and he should be reinstated at his original posting in Ernakulam with full support and protection.

2. Hold Perpetrators Accountable: An independent investigation must be conducted into the actions of Assistant General Manager Kashmeer Singh and Chief Regional Manager Nitesh Kumar Sinha. Those guilty of caste-based discrimination and harassment must face stringent legal and disciplinary consequences under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

3. Implement Reforms: The Indian Overseas Bank must introduce mandatory caste-sensitivity training and establish effective grievance redressal systems to ensure a discrimination-free workplace for all employees, especially those from marginalized communities.

4. Deliver Justice: The assistant manager deserves an official apology, compensation for the emotional trauma inflicted, and guarantees of a respectful and equitable work environment.

The Blue India Party stands resolute in its solidarity with the assistant manager and all victims of caste-based oppression. This incident reinforces our commitment to eradicating caste hierarchies and building a society where every individual is judged by their merit, not their birth. We urge the Government of Kerala, the Union Government, and the leadership of the Indian Overseas Bank to act swiftly to deliver justice and set a precedent against such injustices.
Our party will continue to champion the cause of equality and monitor this case diligently, ensuring that the voices of the marginalized are heard and their rights upheld. The time for empty promises is over—India demands action against casteism now.

Unveiling the "Real Majority" of India

Unveiling the "Real Majority": Divya Dwivedi’s Critique of the Hindu Majority Narrative * In contemporary Indian discourse, the notion of a "Hindu majority" is often taken as an unassailable fact, with official statistics frequently citing approximately 80% of India’s population as Hindu. This framing shapes political campaigns, cultural narratives, and even national identity. However, philosopher and professor at IIT Delhi, Divya Dwivedi, challenges this narrative in her provocative and incisive work, arguing that the "Hindu majority" is a constructed myth that obscures the true social composition of India. For Dwivedi, the "real majority" comprises the lower-caste communities—historically marginalized and oppressed under the caste system—who form the numerical and social backbone of the nation. Her critique, developed in collaboration with philosopher Shaj Mohan, offers a radical rethinking of Indian society, exposing the mechanisms of power t...

Mallanna Unleashes TRP: A New Dawn for Marginalized Voices in Telangana's Power Game

On September 17, 2025, Chintapandu Naveen Kumar, popularly known as Teenmar Mallanna—a prominent Telugu journalist, YouTuber, and former Congress MLC—launched the Telangana Rajyadhikara Party (TRP) in Hyderabad at the Taj Krishna Hotel. The event, attended by Backward Classes (BC) intellectuals, former bureaucrats, and community leaders, marked a significant moment for marginalized groups in Telangana. Mallanna, suspended from Congress in March 2025 for anti-party activities (including criticizing and burning the state's caste survey report), positioned TRP as a dedicated platform for BCs, Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), minorities, and the economically weaker sections. The party's vision emphasizes "Samajika Telangana" (a socially just Telangana) free from fear, hunger, corruption, and prejudice, with a focus on inclusive development and responsible governance. Key highlights from the launch: Symbolism : The date coincided with Periyar Jayanti and V...

Casteist Indian Bankers: Caste Bias Still Haunts Indian Banking

The Problem: Caste discrimination continues to plague the Indian banking sector, limiting access to credit for millions of lower-caste citizens. Data Point: A study  found that Scheduled Tribes (STs) face a 5-7% lower loan approval rate compared to higher castes, even after controlling for socioeconomic factors. How it Works: Discrimination in Action: Lower-caste individuals often encounter: Higher rejection rates for loan applications. Smaller loan amounts compared to higher-caste applicants. Less favorable terms, such as higher interest rates and stricter collateral requirements. The "Depositors, Not Borrowers" Mindset: Banks often view lower-caste individuals primarily as depositors, not as creditworthy borrowers. The Impact: Limited Economic Mobility: Restricted access to credit hampers entrepreneurship, reduces income growth, and perpetuates poverty cycles within marginalized communities. Reliance on Informal Lenders: The lack of access to formal ba...
