Blue India Party Challenges BJP’s Commitment to Backward Classes

Press Release: Blue India Party Challenges BJP’s Commitment to Backward Classes

August 7, 2025

The Blue India Party, under the leadership of National President Bongu Prasad Goud, demands accountability from BJP leaders and questions their commitment to the welfare and rights of Backward Classes (BCs) in India. The following critical concerns must be addressed:
  1. Hypocrisy on Reservations: BJP leaders, known for obstructing BC reservations, have supported the EWS reservation bill while ignoring the need for a BC sub-quota in the recent women’s reservation bill. Why this selective silence on BC representation?
  2. Failure to Establish a BC Ministry: Despite repeated demands, no dedicated BC Ministry has been established at the central level. Why have BJP leaders, including those claiming BC identity, failed to advocate for this crucial institution?
  3. Inadequate Budget Allocations: The central government’s allocation of a mere ₹5,000 crore and ₹1,400 crore for BCs in the budget is an insult, further marginalizing these communities from development. Why has this been met with inaction?
  4. Privatization and Job Losses: The privatization of public sector institutions has disproportionately affected BCs, stripping them of lower-level jobs and pushing them into poverty. Why has the BJP remained silent as BCs are left jobless?
  5. Lack of Proportional Representation: Why has there been no push for BC reservations in legislatures based on population proportion, despite clear constitutional provisions under Articles 15(4) and 16(4)?
  6. Neglect of Caste Census: During the ongoing caste census in Telangana, why has the BJP failed to encourage widespread participation or raise public awareness about its importance?
  7. Tokenism and Betrayal: While BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claim BC identity, their actions betray the community. Holding positions of power while neglecting BC welfare—whether through inadequate policies, lack of representation, or complicity in upper-caste agendas—raises the question: Are you truly BC in ideology, or merely using the label for political gain? Your policies and actions suggest alignment with upper-caste interests over BC welfare.
  8. Misleading Narratives on Reservations: The inclusion of Muslims in BC reservations, as upheld by the Supreme Court based on occupational backwardness, is not a religious conflict but a matter of ensuring BCs receive their rightful share. Why do you question this while ignoring similar provisions in BJP-ruled states like Gujarat? The BJP’s selective outrage risks inciting youth with divisive narratives, undermining constitutional principles.
  9. Token Representation: The BJP has appointed Muslims to prominent roles, such as Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Shahnawaz Hussain, and even APJ Abdul Kalam as President, yet questions the inclusion of Muslims in BC reservations. Why this double standard? Furthermore, why are BCs absent from key roles, such as the Ram Mandir Trust, despite their significant contributions to its cause?
  10. Neglect of BC Contributions: In Telangana, what is the representation of BCs in the film industry, industrial ownership, contracting, or legislative roles? How many BCs serve as MLAs, MPs, or employees? What is the BC-specific budget in Telangana, and has the BJP ever raised these issues in the state assembly? Why has the party failed to ensure BCs receive their fair share?
  11. Exploitation of Hindu Identity: The BJP’s claim to exclusively represent Hinduism is misleading. Hinduism thrived in India long before the BJP’s formation. Are Hindus in other political parties or those unaffiliated with any party not true Hindus? Why does the BJP exploit religion and caste for votes while neglecting the socio-economic struggles of BCs?
  12. Historical Ignorance: The BJP ignores India’s diverse history, including the contributions of Emperor Ashoka, who built 84,000 Buddhist monasteries. Why do you focus on divisive Hindu-Muslim narratives while ignoring archaeological evidence of Buddhist heritage? Do you even understand the history and struggles of BCs, their indigenous roots, or the contributions of leaders like Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, who fought for their emancipation?
The Blue India Party warns that if the BJP’s policies in Telangana and across India continue to undermine BC rights, no BC voter will support the party in the future. We urge BJP leaders to reflect on their betrayal of BCs, educate themselves on the community’s true history, and adopt policies that genuinely uplift Backward Classes. The time for change is now.

Unveiling the "Real Majority" of India

Unveiling the "Real Majority": Divya Dwivedi’s Critique of the Hindu Majority Narrative * In contemporary Indian discourse, the notion of a "Hindu majority" is often taken as an unassailable fact, with official statistics frequently citing approximately 80% of India’s population as Hindu. This framing shapes political campaigns, cultural narratives, and even national identity. However, philosopher and professor at IIT Delhi, Divya Dwivedi, challenges this narrative in her provocative and incisive work, arguing that the "Hindu majority" is a constructed myth that obscures the true social composition of India. For Dwivedi, the "real majority" comprises the lower-caste communities—historically marginalized and oppressed under the caste system—who form the numerical and social backbone of the nation. Her critique, developed in collaboration with philosopher Shaj Mohan, offers a radical rethinking of Indian society, exposing the mechanisms of power t...

Raise of RSS-affiliated think tanks

Since 2014, the number of think tanks affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has significantly increased. India had 192 think tanks in 2014, which surged to 612 by 2021, reflecting a notable rise in nationalist-oriented institutions like the India Foundation and the Vivekananda International Foundation  This growth is part of a broader strategy to challenge leftist intellectual dominance and promote a "New India" ideology through policy research and public discourse. The main goals of RSS-affiliated think tanks include: Promoting Hindutva Ideology : They aim to spread the ideology of Hindutva to strengthen the Hindu community and uphold Indian culture and civilizational values Challenging Leftist Dominance : These think tanks seek to counter the intellectual hegemony of leftist ideologies in India, providing an alternative narrative in policy discourse Supporting Government Policies : They produce research and reports that s...

Casteist Indian Bankers: Caste Bias Still Haunts Indian Banking

The Problem: Caste discrimination continues to plague the Indian banking sector, limiting access to credit for millions of lower-caste citizens. Data Point: A study  found that Scheduled Tribes (STs) face a 5-7% lower loan approval rate compared to higher castes, even after controlling for socioeconomic factors. How it Works: Discrimination in Action: Lower-caste individuals often encounter: Higher rejection rates for loan applications. Smaller loan amounts compared to higher-caste applicants. Less favorable terms, such as higher interest rates and stricter collateral requirements. The "Depositors, Not Borrowers" Mindset: Banks often view lower-caste individuals primarily as depositors, not as creditworthy borrowers. The Impact: Limited Economic Mobility: Restricted access to credit hampers entrepreneurship, reduces income growth, and perpetuates poverty cycles within marginalized communities. Reliance on Informal Lenders: The lack of access to formal ba...
